Vaccine Detail

E. ictaluri crp mutant vaccine
Vaccine Information
  • Vaccine Ontology ID: VO_0002829
  • Type: Live, attenuated vaccine
  • Status: Research
  • crp gene engineering:
    • Type: Gene mutation
    • Description: This crp mutat is from Edwardsiella ictaluri (Santander et al., 2011).
    • Detailed Gene Information: Click Here.
  • Immunization Route: Intramuscular injection (i.m.)
Host Response

Catfishes Response

  • Persistence: A crp mutant is attenuated in catfish that were immunized intracoelomically (Santander et al., 2011).
  • Efficacy: A crp mutant protected catfish from challenge with wild type E. ictaluri six weeks after immunization (Santander et al., 2011).
  • Host IgM response
    • Description: IgM titers of immersion vaccinated catfish were lower compared to i.c.-vaccinated catfish as expected. However, in both cases skin IgM titers were significantly higher than naïve non-vaccinated fish 30 days post-immunization (Santander et al., 2011).
    • Detailed Gene Information: Click Here.

Zebrafish Response

  • Persistence: A crp mutant is attenuated in zebrafish that were immunized intramuscularly (Santander et al., 2011).
  • Efficacy: A crp mutant protected zebrafish from challenge with wild type E. ictaluri six weeks after immunization (Santander et al., 2011).
