Vaccine Detail

PRRSV DNA vaccine pCI-ORF5/ORF6
Vaccine Information
  • Vaccine Name: PRRSV DNA vaccine pCI-ORF5/ORF6
  • Target Pathogen: Porcine respiratory and reproductive syndrome virus
  • Target Disease: Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS), Blue-Ear Pig Disease
  • Vaccine Ontology ID: VO_0004510
  • Type: DNA vaccine
  • Status: Research
  • Host Species as Laboratory Animal Model: Mouse, pig
  • GP5 gene engineering:
    • Type: DNA vaccine construction
    • Description: Vector pCl-neo expressed GP5 (encoded by ORF5) and M (encoded by ORF6) (Jiang et al., 2006).
    • Detailed Gene Information: Click Here.
  • DNA vaccine plasmid: pCI-neo DNA vaccine plasmid
  • Immunization Route: Intramuscular injection (i.m.)
Host Response

Pig Response

  • Vaccine Immune Response Type: VO_0000286
  • Efficacy: All immunized piglets developed neutralizing antibodies at 10 weeks after primary immunization, whereas there was no detectable neutralizing antibodies in piglets immunized with pCI-ORF5. Neutralizing antibodies are considered to be important in protection against PRRSV (Jiang et al., 2006).
