  • Preparation: An MM GVAX is being evaluated in which cells from 2 myeloma cell lines are admixed with K562 cells modified to express GM-CSF (Garfall and Stadtmauer, 2016).
  • Description: An allogeneic tumor cell vaccine containing myeloma cancer cells transfected with the granulocyte macrophage-colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) gene with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon vaccination, allogeneic GM-CSF-based myeloma cellular vaccine secretes GM-CSF, which may potentiate a tumor-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against myeloma cancer cell-associated antigens.
