Welcome to Vaxign (beta)!

Welcome to Vaxign, the vaccine target prediction and analysis program. Vaxign has two programs, one is the Vaxign Query system providing precomputed Vaxign resutls for users to explore, the other is the Dynamic Vaxign Analysis system allowing sequenceinput and dynamic Vaxign calculation and data visualization.

1. Vaxign Query:

This program allows users to search precomputed results based on the computational Vaxign pipeline. A user can either select a genome and search all positive vaccine targets based on desired parameters, or select a protein sequence(s) from a specific genome and find the possibility of using it (or them) as a vaccine target(s). Please contact us if you would like to have your favorite genome(s) included in the Vaxign genome list.

First select a genome, query a protein (optional), and set up parameters
Select a genome (Required)
Locus Tag (e.g., BruAb1_0034)
Locus Name (e.g., SodC)
NCBI GeneID (e.g., 3340039)
NCBI Protein RefSeq (e.g., YP_222726.1)
NCBI Protein GI (e.g., 17988373)
Description (e.g., superoxide dismutase)
Include Analyses [Select all] [Unselect all]
  • Subcellular localization
  • Transmembrane helices
  • Adhesion probability
  • MHC class I binding
  • MHC class II binding
  • Autoimmunity to human proteins
  • Autoimmunity to mouse proteins

2. Dynamic Vaxign Analysis:

This program allows users to input a protein sequence(s), and the Vaxign web server will dynamically calculate the possibilities of using the protein(s) as vaccine target(s) based on the computational Vaxign pipeline. It is noted that lengthy computational time may be expected.

Input a protein sequence(s), set up parameters, and submit a job
