Molecule Role Annotation The pseudorabies virus (PrV) DNA vaccine carrying the glycoprotein D (gD) gene delivered by E. coli was able to induce protective immune responses in mice against a lethal PrV challenge (Shiau et al., 2001). Immunization of mice with affinity-purified gD of Aujeszky's disease virus (ADV, Suid herpesvirus 1) induced a strong humoral immune response and protected mice against lethal ADV challenge (Vrublevskaia et al., 2007).
