C57BL/6 mice were immunized s.c. with recombinant PFR-1 (PAR1) protein co-adsorbed to alum with rIL-12. rPFR-1 immunized animals were able to successfully resolve parasitemia by day 30 p.i., with the peak parasitemia occurring between days 17 and 21 p.i. (Luhrs et al., 2003).
